The Best Summer Gym Accessories

This heatwave seems to be doing two pretty contrasting things: making it difficult to find the motivation to do anything, and making the gym a pretty appealing place because it has air con. And right now, anywhere with air conditioning is the place we want to be.

Obviously, you can look through our website for some of the best looking (biased, us?) activewear in the market, to get you through that gym session, but what about gym accessories? Useful things to keep in your gym bag that will help you get through that workout. Must-haves, if you like.

So, because we’re just as useful as these accessories, this week we have rounded up some of the  best, and most useful, pieces of kit for you to take to your next gym session.

A water bottle

Definitely the most necessary of the lot, we don’t need to tell you how important it is to stay hydrated at all times in this weather, but especially when you’re working out.

You don’t need to spend a fortune on a water bottle; if you only want to use it in the gym you could probably get away with something a little cheaper, but it’s always worth investing in something you want to use all the time.

Want to keep your water really cold? A chilly bottle is probably your best bet – super cold water all day long!

If you’re looking for something a little larger, Camelback have such a huge range of water bottles that are gym suitable.

Infused water is all the rage at the moment, and Bobble () do a range that mean you can enjoy sweeter, fruiter water to get you through your workout. Let us know your favourite fruits to throw in your water!

A gym towel

We all get sweaty in the gym. So it stands to reason that we should all carry a towel, too, to wipe our brow, and maybe the equipment before the next person wants to use it.

Lulu Lemon have a specific small towel, designed for wiping away your sweat and perfect for those heavy workouts.

Or if you’re looking for a bargain, check out Ebay! The perfect place for cheaper gym accessories, so you can be sure you’ll really use something before buying a more expensive version.

Resistance bands

Maybe you’re looking for more of a challenge in the gym, to really activate your muscles before working them. Whatever the reason, a resistance band is a great accessory if you’re wanting to push yourself that little bit further.

Grace Fit UK offers resistance bands that are excellent quality, whilst also being vegan.

Or, if you’re wanting stretchier bands with handles, look no further than the Bodylastics range. Available through their own website, or on Amazon of course.

Exercise mats

The workout mats at the gym are not always the most appealing. Luckily, though, it’s easy enough to get your hands on your own one. Whether you’re looking for a yoga mat, or something comfy to do your ab exercises on, we’ve got you covered.

As always, Lulu Lemon has some fab options for you; their offerings are plain, simple and will most definitely get the job done.

Or you could look on Etsy for something a little bit more colourful, so you can really stand out while you workout!
